Product details
Meet Omotenashi, a Washed Pink Bourbon from producer Daniel Muñoz in San Augistín, Colombia.
Omotenashi is a Japanese word that means to wholeheartedly look after your guests! This is a really special coffee that we want to share with you, and you can share with others.
This microlot is a complex coffee, with a creamy mouthfeel that reminds us of melon balanced with strawberry and some juicy blackberry and lime acidity. We’ve been loving this coffee on Aeropress and batch brew.
Producer Daniel Muñoz has a long history in sugar cane farming, and overtime he became enamoured with coffee. Because of this he purchased Villa Camile and is now focused on growing high grade specialty coffee, exclusively Pink Bourbon and Gesha bean varieties. We are very excited to be offering one both this year. Coffee sourced through our good friends at Semilla Coffee.
Daniel Muñoz has also become a friend of ours over the years, and this is our 3rd year selling his coffee. In 2024 some of our team had the chance to spend a week with Daniel and his family in San Agustin to see his farm as well as the entire Monkaaba group. Daniel is one of the pillars of this group and an ambassador for the region

NOTES FROM THE MASTER ROASTER:
Not only is this one of our favourite coffees of the year, we have a special connection with the family who produce the coffee having visited them at their farm and home in San Agustin.
This coffee has always stood out from other Pink Bourbons from Colombia - it has a heavier mouthfeel, and the tasting notes are wonderfully complex with tropical fruit, melon and berries.
Omotenashi means to wholeheartedly look after your guests! This coffee is all about sharing something very special with our guests. The concept behind the artwork is that the 3 cats are presenting you with their prized possession, a fish. In our case - Omotenashi is the prized possession.
