Product details
A special release from Jaimie Burbano in Colombia just in time for summer! Kokoro has always been used exclusively for Jaimie's coffee, a special farmer for us since he is the first farmer we worked with back in 2020. This year we are offering a small caturra lot, which has some distinct differences from a Pink Bourbon which has become far more common in the region.
Kokoro is a Japanese word meaning interconnectedness, or the heart and soul of something. This perfectly fits Jaimie's farm and the importance of him in the Monkaaba group in San Agustin Huila. Our roasting team had a chance to visit his El Guayabo farm in 2024, a truly a magical place filled with tropical fruit trees. Complete with a pulley system made out of an old Yamaha motorcycle.
The coffee has intense floral and tropical fruit aromas, the cup is syrupy sweet, with notes of fig, raspberry, prune and sugar. Roasted as a filter profile, punchy fruit flavours will shine on all filter methods and cold brew.

NOTES FROM THE MASTER ROASTER:
A very special coffee for us, since Jaimie is the first Colombian producer we ever worked with. We had the pleasure of meeting him and seeing his farm and production this summer, and everything is immaculate, a true master of his craft. The quality of his coffee is the clear result of meticulous hard work.
If you tried the previous versions, this is the same variety that we had in late 2020!
Heart and Connection
We re-imagined the original Kororo artwork for 2025.
We updated the colour palette to warm pastels. The art is a visual representation of Kokoro, meaning roughly the heart of things and connection, which Jaimie definitely is in San Agustin.
